Botswana’s athletes began their World Championships campaign in London at brisk pace as all but one of the four who took part in the heats on Saturday progressed to the semi finals.

Isaac Makwala, Baboloki Thebe and Nijel Amos eased into the next round after good runs in their heats, but there was no joy for Karabo Sibanda in the 400m, as the youngster makes a slow return from injury.

Last night, Makwala, Thebe and Amos were expected to progress to the finals after being involved in the semi finals.
