Botswana umpires wait for ICC Qualifications

Sixteen Batswana are on the verge of acquiring International Cricket Council (ICC) Elementary Umpiring certificates after an examination administered by South African expert, Muhammed Nanabhay.

The results of the exam are expected before the end of April. Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) vice chairman, Praful Jog said that to attain the ICC certificate, umpires must score 80 percent and above in the examination and officiate in at least six matches.

"This is to ensure that we do not give the certificate to people who can pass theory but fail to deliver practically," he said.
