BFA seeks FIFA deadline extension

The Botswana Football Association (BFA) will seek an extension to FIFA’s constituency tournaments deadline as it battles to find a solution. FIFA gave Botswana up to September 22 to bring the government-run tournaments under the aegis of BFA or risk punishment.

However, as the deadline draws closer, the BFA, the Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) are still to find a solution because the government is refusing to cede ground.

BFA president, Tebogo Sebego said it is apparent that there would be no compliance with the ultimatum by the FIFA deadline.
