Former Zebras physical trainer, Professor Ignatius Onyewadume has revealed that 90% of the 2012 history-making squad suffered from high blood pressure.

Onyewadume told Mmegi Sport that tests conducted on the players had shown that they suffered from high blood pressure and he had to come up with a tailor-made training programme to address the problem. “When I was engaged as a physical trainer, I conducted tests on the players, and the outcome was shocking. 

This goes back to the fact that such tests are not conducted at club level.  It is crucial that players get physical trainers at club level, to monitor their diet and the kind of the exercise they do,” Onyewadume said.
