PRESS STATEMENT: Botswana Teaching Professionals Council (BOTEPCO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mercy Rebaone Thebe as Manager Corporate Affairs Manager effective 1st June, 2023.

BOTEPCO’s mandate is to amongst others: regulate the teaching profession; maintain professional and ethical standards for teachers; licensing teachers; maintain a register of teachers; establish, publish, review and maintain a code of ethics; advocate for the teaching profession etc. Ms. Thebe is seasoned corporate communications expect with a solid understanding of corporate affairs, government relations, stakeholder relations, business administration, integrated marketing communications, event management and public & media relations. She possesses vast knowledge about changing industry needs and challenges within education sector especially in Botswana and Southern Africa.

Ms. Thebe joins BOTEPCO from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology where she served as Director; Communications & PR, a position she held for close to fourteen (14) years. During her tenure at Limkokwing, Ms. Thebe successfully rebranded and repositioned Limkokwing University Botswana as a reputable and number one market leader private tertiary institution in Botswana, harnessing great mutual relations between University and all its relevant stakeholders. She has an experience which entails; overall strategic direction of a corporate image, brand optimization, students experience, reputation management, digital marketing communications and corporate social responsibility.
