Give The Fight Against Poverty The Urgency It Deserves-BOCONGO

The Botswana Council of Non- governmental Organisations (BOCONGO), at its consultative and stakeholder forum on November, 6, called to deliberate on the State of the Nation Address, noted that while some achievements have been made in some areas, there are still numerous challenges facing Botswana.

The civil society movement noted that while the government has, and continues to initiate several programmes and projects aimed at alleviating poverty, poverty still remains a national crisis.

Thus, BOCONGO would like to call on the government to give the fight against poverty the urgency and energy  that it deserves, in particular by paying close attention to the structural poverty that continues to divide the haves and the have-nots.
