In the queue: The UDC encourages Batswana to register in large numbers

Today marks an important feature in the preparations for this year's general elections. Our consistent and unwavering position is that, transparency and public scrutiny should define our elections. Hence our call for observation of the registration exercise. However, the IEC and the Court of Appeal maintain a posture that is opposed to ours.

Whilst we anticipate rigging, we encourage all eligible citizens - 18 years and above - to register in large numbers.

We should borrow from the Zambian experience where there was massive rigging but the huge voter turnout allowed the people to defeat rigging.

We also urge all of you to be on alert and be watchful throughout this process. Any suspicious acts of corruption by the IEC, its agents and the BDP regime should be reported to the party leadership. All voters should be "madibelatlhopho" by fighting rigging and fraud in every aspect of the 2024 elections.

With one resolve we can defeat election rigging and protect our votes. We cannot allow the state apparatus to stand between us and a better life.

Decent jobs and decent lives is what we want and we'll get if we register and vote in large numbers and most importantly protect our votes.

The CoA as the last line to defend our constitutional democracy has failed us in ensuring transparency and public scrutiny.

Massive voter Registration is the last hope for our Republic.
