Zimbabwean man fatally hit by a car in Tlokweng

FRANCISTOWN: An investigation has been launched after after a 40-year-old Zimbabwean man was hit and killed by a car in Tlokweng.

Deputy divisional traffic officer for South Central, Senior Superintendent Boiki Mojalemotho explained that the accident occurred on the evening of May 17 along the A12 road at the Roma church traffic lights.

He said the pedestrian was attempting to cross the road from south to north when he was hit by a Toyota RunX. Mojalemotho revealed that the victim was taken to Princess Marina Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

It is said that the 33-years-old driver of the RunX refused to take an alcohol test and investigations continue. In a separate incident, Mojalemotho said they are also investigating another accident that occurred in Block 3 near Tawana Spar.

He said the collision included a Honda Joce and a motorcycle. Furthermore, Mojalemotho indicated that the Honda Joyce collided with the motorcycle immediately before the turn off explaining that the driver was travelling south. He added that the 29-year-old motorbike rider shattered his left leg and was taken to Bokamoso Private Hospital for medical attention.
