Woman fires at her brother over tobacco pipe

MAUN: A 25-year-old woman from Sanyedi ward is facing attempted murder charge after firing at her brother with a short-gun following a disagreement over a tobacco pipe.

“The two were in the same house and had a disagreement over a hubbly. The woman shot at her brother using a pump action short-gun but missed him. The man managed to close her outside and locked the door and hid under a bed. The sister, however, went to the window but could not find him and left the yard,” deputy officer commanding No.5 District, Superintendent John Kelebeng confirmed.

He said the man reported the case to the police and the woman is in custody pending further investigations. Kelebeng revealed that the gun belongs to their father and has not yet been recovered as the suspect said she threw it into the Thamalakane River.
