Venson-Moitoi radiates confidence for AU job

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi says she is going to consult her Serowe South constituents about her intention to contest the position of Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC).

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission is the chief executive officer, legal representative and the commission’s accounting officer.

She will be a candidate representing Botswana and southern Africa. Venson-Moitoi’s consultation started yesterday (Sunday) in Moiyabana and she will address Serowe residents on Wednesday. She confirmed that if she wins in June to become the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, she will resign as MP for Serowe South and as cabinet minister.
