Two men rape another following gang assault

The police in Mahalapye have launched a probe to locate two men who allegedly gang-raped another man in Botalaote ward.

In an interview, Mahalapye Central Police Station Commander, Superintendent Meshack Ranku, said the rape incident was reported on Tuesday. It was alleged to have occurred Monday early morning. Narrating what transpired, Ranku told MmegiOnline that the victim, a 28-year-old man, was walking home alone and met two men on the way who then pounced on him in an attack. The victim is said to have been threatened before one of the two attackers raped him. "He said whilst threatening him, one of them held him whilst the other raped him and afterward the assailants fled the crime scene. One of them is familiar to the victim. We have since launched investigations to locate and arrest the duo who is still at large," he said. Ranku also said following the report of the matter, the victim was taken to Mahalapye Hospital for further medical assistance and tests.
