Babitseng unopposed for COSAFA presidency

Botswana Football Association (BFA) president Tariq Babitseng has emerged as the favourite to succeed Angolan Artur de Almeida e Silva as the next COSAFA leader. COSAFA will hold elections in Harare on May 17, and Babitseng is now the sole candidate with South African, Danny Jordan, expected to withdraw from the race.

Babitseng told MmegiSport that he had submitted his candidature and expects all 14 member nations to rally behind him.

If elected, he explained the focus will be to bring in more partners for the regional body, and ensure that the regional competition in rotated amongst member countries.
