A 32-year-old Tswaaneng woman has been arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend with a knife.

The incident was reported to the police yesterday, leading to the woman’s arrest.

Confirming the matter, Goodhope police station commander, Superintendent Mogogi Mathaba, said the suspect allegedly stabbed her 29-year-old boyfriend at a bar on December 26th.

“It is alleged that on Christmas Day, while at the bar, the boyfriend assaulted the woman. The following day, upon seeing him again at the same bar, she pounced on him in an attack and stabbed him,” Mathaba said.

The victim, a Sedibeng native, sustained a deep stab wound to the chest and is currently hospitalised at Goodhope Primary Hospital, where he is said to be recuperating.

Mathaba added that the suspect is expected to appear before the Lobatse Magistrates’ Court tomorrow for arraignment.
