Tsonyane man commits suicide

Jwaneng police are investigating a case in which a 45-year-old man of Tsonyane village was recently found by his mother hanging from a tree in their yard. The Monitor has learnt that the deceased had a misunderstanding with his girlfriend before the incident.

Jwaneng Police Station commander, Superintendent Thuso Basuti said the deceased was found hanging from a tree at around 9am by his mother who had just stepped out to visit their relatives. "He had used a wire to hang himself. The mother was assisted by neighbours to rush him to the village clinic and was referred to Jwaneng Mine Hospital where he was certified dead by doctors on arrival. "Investigations into the matter are ongoing to establish what could have influenced his action," Basuti added.
