THIEVES TERRORISE MMOPANE, GABORONE RESIDENTS .

Residents of Mmopane and Gaborone Block Seven and Eight are living in fear because of rising cases of house break-ins. Since last month, the police say the crime has been on the increase in these areas. The situation has been blamed on lack of cluster policing strategies in some places and lack of cooperation by residents in the fight against crime.


The police are concerned that residents in these areas do not know each other. Sir Seretse Khama Airport Police Station commander, Superintendent Banneetsi Keakile told The Monitor on Friday that in most cases, criminals break into houses when occupants are away, possibly at work.
