JWANENG: Police here are searching for suspects who broke into a bar in the early hours of Christmas Day and stole a television set and alcohol.

Jwaneng Police station commander, Superintendent Thuso Basuti, told MmegiOnline that the hunt was on for the group.

"We are still searching for the culprits and plead with anyone who has information regarding this issue to assist. “The stolen goods are worth P20, 000," he said.

According to Basuti, despite the incident, the festive season recorded fewer criminal cases, such as housebreaking. The bar break-in was the only case recorded, whereas in 2022, police had five criminal cases.

"Generally this festive season people were behaving and working well with the police," he said.
