Ntlo ya Dikgosi (NYD) has been told to stop being bitter because some of the members became members of the House by virtue of being born in royal families.

The Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Eric Molale said this yesterday when responding to a motion calling for a constitutional review tabled by Kgosi Galeakanye Modise of Tswapong region. The motion read: ”That this House requests government to start the process of constitutional review, so that Batswana can be afforded an opportunity to make an input on the constitution that would be neutral, respectful and cognisant of every Motswana of every citizen of this country.” When responding to the chief’s argument, Molale said there is nothing wrong with the motion, but the chiefs should be clear on the sections of the Constitution that they think should be reviewed.  “I listened to your debates carefully, but if you are troubled by something then let’s stop generalising. The arguments were not clear.

Instead you were addressing certain aspects in the Constitution,” Molale said. “The Constitution will remain adequate. It’s not time to do the overhaul of the Constitution. It should be clear that there is nowhere in the Constitution where it talks about Kgosikgolo,” Molale said.
