Teen hospitalised after suicide attempt

A 16-year-old girl is fighting for her life at Sekgoma Memorial Hospital after she allegedly attempted to take her own life by drinking a poisonous substance on Sunday at Setekwane Lands, on the outskirts of Serowe.

According to the police, the teenager reportedly attempted suicide following a misunderstanding with her uncle. Investigations are still ongoing to determine the details surrounding the dispute.

Serowe Police Station commander, Superintendent Poloko Oteng, confirmed the incident, saying the girl was discovered lying motionless with foam coming out of her mouth.
