A 22-year-old man from Sefhare village has been arrested and is in police custody for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl.

The arrest follows an incident whereby the girl's parents, suspicious of their daughter's recent change in behaviour and irregular movements, covertly followed her to the suspect's home. Machaneng Police Station Commander, Superintendent Gagopale Gaselarona, said the girl's parent reported the matter to the police.

He added that the suspect was likely to appear before Palapye Magistrate’s Court this week to face a single count of defilement.
