Naledi police in Gaborone are investigating the violent robbery. According to No. 13 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Mmoloke Sebako, the incident occurred at around 12 pm as the victim, a Ramotswa native, was driving home from his duty station at Sir Seretse Khama Barracks (SSKB). Sebako explained that the soldier had briefly stopped and parked his vehicle by the roadside shortly after passing St. Joseph’s College to relieve himself when two men attacked. “The suspects pounced on him, broke into his car, and assaulted him.
During the scuffle, one of the attackers stabbed him with a sharp object before robbing him of his mobile phone and a bag containing his clothes, including his military uniform,” Sebako said. He added that the suspects fled the scene on foot, disappearing into Kgale Hill with the stolen items. “The victim was rushed to Bokamoso Private Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment. Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspects, who remain at large,” Sebako said. Police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in the investigation and are urging anyone with relevant details to come forward.
