Siblings perish in road mishap

Two young sisters aged eight and 11 have lost their lives in a road accident that occurred on Saturday night near Makoro Gate along the A1 Highway in the outskirts of Palapye.

According to Palapye Police Station commander, Superintendent Koziba Phuluweni, the accident was reported at around 8 pm. He explained that the children were passengers in a VW Polo that hit a cow, then veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Toyota GD6.

The driver of the VW Polo, a 44-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Sidilega Private Hospital, where he remains hospitalised receiving treatment.
