Peggy Serame, who wears many hats including that of Finance minister and Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) Women's Wing chairperson, has received accolades from those who work with her. At the party’s Women's Wing, she is regarded as the backbone of the organisation.

Party members credit her for achieving financial independence for the Women’s Wing, a significant shift from the past. "We initiated activities to raise funds to support the wing. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, the wing was able to donate money to the country," Lesole explains.
