SEDC pleased with ESP progress

The South East District Council (SEDC) is pleased with progress made under the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) where construction is going well despite challenges. Councillors learnt in yesterday’s full council meeting that though construction is going well in most areas there are still some drawbacks.

“Under council, the scope of the projects implemented through ESP include; six blocks of 1x9 cubicle toilets, 3x1x2 classroom blocks and 12 teachers’ houses in Tlokweng, Mogobane and Ramotswa. 

Construction is going fairly well in most areas amidst challenges of late supply of materials, cashflow problems, the rocky nature of the surface and black cotton soils in some areas, which retard progress,” SEDC chairman, Phenyo Segokgo said.
