Some students in the Mmathethe-Molapowabojwang constituency boarding schools sleep on the floor due to the high shortage of beds and mattresses especially at the boys’ hostels. The situation is so bad that some students are forced to sleep on some of the bed frames without mattresses to avoid the cold floor.

It is almost a year now since the three boarding schools have been experiencing the shortage. Three junior community schools affected are Mmathethe JSS, Nthwalwang CJSS (Digwana) and Mogale JSS (Maokane).

Only Chichi JSS in Molapowabojwang is not a boarding school. The area Member of Parliament, Dr Alfred Madigele confirmed the shortage yesterday.
