SA completes Ramotswa linking bridge

The South African (SA) government has completed the R70 million Swartkopfontein/Ramotswa bridge connecting the two countries. This came after the neighbouring countries made an agreement in 2012 to build the bridge, which will also connect Platjan and internal roads along the two countries.

At the official opening of the bridge yesterday, in Swartkopfontein, it became evident that Botswana has not yet started building part of the bridge in its territory.

The SA Minister of Transport, Dipuo Peters told attendants from Botswana and South Africa that they completed their side of the bridge on time and on budget.
