Regional railways want control of technical staff

HARARE: The Southern Africa Railways Association (SARA) is crafting a policy framework to help contain unregulated movement of technical staff from country to country.

SARA executive director, Bernard Dzawanda said during the regional organisation's executive committee and board meeting in Victoria Falls that the framework would, when implemented, ensure that rail transport utilities in southern Africa manage the movement of skilled personnel between sister organisations in the bloc. 

He decried the constant movement of skilled personnel among SARA members, saying this adversely affects operations for organisations losing the workers.
