Advocate Sidney Pilane has reportedly indicated that he wants to resign from the besieged Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) so that it could find a common ground, Mmegi has learnt.

Sources have disclosed that a meeting was held at Pilane’s residence in Gaborone North on May 30, 2016. “During this meeting comprising of Members of Parliament Tlamelo Mmatli, Gilbert Mangole and chairperson Nehemiah Modubule, Pilane informed the trio that he intends to resign from the BMD so that it finds a common ground. The trio advised Pilane against resigning from the movement and assured him they will handle his matter,” said one of the sources. They also indicated that they will discuss Pilane’s issue during the Palapye national executive committee meeting billed for June 5.

It is alleged that Pilane instructed Modubule and Mangole to form a disciplinary committee that will take action against BMD vice president Wynter Mmolotsi and Mogoditshane legislator Sedirwa Kgoroba with a view to firing them from the party. “Pilane sees Mmolotsi and Kgoroba as a threat hence he wants them fired.
