SELEBI-PHIKWE: The decision by the executive to liquidate the BCL mine has sent residents panicking and believing that it will do more harm than good.

Mmegi caught up with some of the residents on Monday, among them Lorato Lesola, who explained that she does not understand what liquidating the BCL mine really means, thus calling on relevant authorities to embark on a public awareness campaign on the matter.

She further pointed out that since the mine is currently closed for liquidation, this has left her in confusion as she has been surviving through renting out accommodation to some of the miners.
