Pheto appeals to Khama over hidden cards

The Botswana Democratic Party has instituted an investigation into the 6,000 membership cards that were found in a house in Gakuto village, a day after the primary elections were held in Ntsweletau/Mmopane constituency.

The investigations follow a meeting between incumbent Moeng Pheto and President Ian Khama last Thursday. The BDP president wanted the MP’s reasons for deciding to contest the general elections as an independent candidate (mokoko).

Pheto confirmed to Mmegi that two people have been appointed and had started the investigations on Saturday.
