A 60-year-old man lost his life on Sunday afternoon after he was hit by a horse and trailer truck along the Molepolole–Lephephe road.

Confirming the incident, Southern Divisional Traffic Officer, Assistant Commissioner Boiki Mojalemotho said the fatal accident occurred around 5:45 pm, about four kilometres from Hatsalatladi village.

“The 35-year-old truck driver reported that whilst driving, the steering wheel suddenly failed to respond, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and hit the pedestrian who was walking by the roadside,” Mojalemotho said.
