Passenger killed in truck collision near Matsitama junction

The Tatitown police are investigating a fatal road traffic accident in which a 39-year-old man from Gerald Estate in Francistown lost his life after the truck he was travelling in collided with a stationary truck on Saturday morning.

Confirming the incident, Tatitown Police Station Commander, Superintendent Oscar Bayani, said police received a report of the accident at around 6:30 am. The accident occurred on the A30 road at Matakana settlement near the Matsitama Junction.

According to Bayani, the accident involved two trucks travelling in the same direction. One of the trucks, which was loaded with potatoes, had suffered a tyre puncture, prompting the driver to stop on the roadside to change the damaged tyre.
