The Parliamentary Committee on Government Assurances will begin a series of public sittings from today (June 2 to 12, 2026) to examine how government ministries have implemented promises and commitments made in Parliament between November 2019 and September 2024.

The hearings are scheduled to take place at Parliament Auditorium, and during the sittings, Accounting Officers from various government ministries will appear before the committee to provide updates and progress reports on assurances and commitments made by government officials in Parliament over the past five years.

According to Parliament, the exercise forms part of the committee’s oversight responsibilities and is aimed at ensuring that government institutions account for commitments made to Members of Parliament and the public.
