Palapye police are investigating a case in which an 11-year-old girl was raped by her mother's male relative on Saturday night.

Police received the report on Sunday after the victim disclosed what had happened to her neighbours. Confirming that they are investigating the matter, Palapye Police Station assistant commander, Assistant Superintendent Goletwa Kethamile, said they have launched a probe to locate the suspect, who is still at large.

He disclosed that on the night of the incident, the little girl had followed her mother to a Chibuku depot, but her mother wanted to send her back home.
