But before I close this chapter, I felt it necessary to reach out specifically to you the media fraternity, who have been my partners and friends throughout this journey. My career began with you. I spent 10 years as a journalist at the Department of Information and Broadcasting, as a reporter, sub-editor, including providing media coverage to the former president Festus Mogae and his Cabinet, and learning firsthand the weight of your calling.
I then spent the next 25 years on the other side as a Public Relations and Communications expert, yet my respect for the media never wavered. To the many journalists I have worked with across the Ministry of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism, the United Nations (UNICEF, WHO), SADC Climate Services Centre, BCL Mine, ACHAP,BOTEC and finally BURS, I thank you. You held me accountable, challenged our institutions, and together we navigated complex stories from health crises to climate change to revenue collection. The journey had its trials, but by God's grace, I stand solid today. As Psalm 34:19 reminds us: "The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all."
