Parliament approves funds diversion

A total of P62.1 million has been diverted from the Department of Culture to patch shoddy jobs at three stadiums in Serowe, Lobatse and Francistown.

The Assistant Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Gloria Somolekae, tabled a supplementary budget requisition of P62.1 million for the refurbishment of the three facilities last week.On Friday, the Ministry of Youth Sport and Culture, under which the facilities fall, confirmed the diversion of the amount from the Cultural Development and Performing Arts, under the Department of Culture.
