Old Abandoned Granny Languishes In Backroom

FRANCISTOWN: The little one-roomed house at the back of the yard behind the main house is without a door, curtains or any furniture. The floors and the walls are dirty and greased and it would be easy to assume that it is an abandoned little room but alas an 87-year-old grandmother lies in it.

Khumanego Vuvu stays in the one-roomed house in her daughter's yard and says that her children have abandoned her. She says that though she prefers to stay in the village she had to come to town to the Old Pension's Fund office to verify that she is still alive.

She says that sometimes she goes to bed without eating.
