Former president and Kgosikgolo of Bangwato, Ian Khama, has clarified that while he has accepted an apology from the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), his forgiveness does not extend to everyone within the party, particularly those he accuses of harassment and persecution.

Over the weekend at the BDP retreat, the party president, Mpho Balop, revealed that their trip down to Serowe to render apologies to the community and Khama has borne fruit as their apologies have been accepted by the latter.

“We had a meeting with Khama as he personally reached out to us, and he said to us that following our visit to apologise, he has forgiven us,” Balopi said.
