Nasha urges revival of women's caucus

Former Speaker of the National Assembly, Margret Nasha is advocating for the revival of the Caucus for Women in Politics.

Speaking at the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) 50th celebration of its work in Botswana, she urged women in politics to resuscitate the caucus as a means of increasing women's representation in the upcoming general election. The caucus once served as a platform for women parliamentarians and councillors from across the political divide.

“It is sad that the Caucus for Women in Politics has collapsed. Its death contributed a lot to a decrease in the number of female representation in politics from both the Council and Parliament.
