Police in Mogoditshane are investigating a rape case in which a 36-year-old woman was allegedly attacked and sexually assaulted by an unknown intruder whilst she was sitting inside a parked vehicle in the Ga-Lekgatshwane Lands area on the outskirts of Metsimotlhabe.

Confirming the incident, Mogoditshane Police Station acting commander, Superintendent Mompoloki Ramaphoi, said the matter was reported to the police on Sunday at around 11pm. Later in the evening, after most guests had retired for the night, she reportedly asked a man known to her for a lift.

The two allegedly parked by the roadside and were chatting inside the vehicle when an unknown man suddenly emerged and attacked them.
