Minibus driver in stable condition following fatal accident

When giving an update on the accident, Tatitown Police Station commander, Boipuso Baatweng said that investigations into what may have caused the accident are ongoing. “We are yet to interview the driver of the minibus who is still hospitalised but in a stable condition. The death toll of the accident is still the same,” said Baatweng.
According to the police, five people died on the spot when the accident happened at around 8:45am and were certified dead upon arrival at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital. The passengers, four females and one male lost their lives after the horrific accident when the 18-seat passenger minibus heading to Francistown overturned. Meanwhile, a 29-year-old man is fighting for his life in the intensive care unit at the Francistown Academic Hospital after he was hit by a car on August 1 along the New Bridge road. According to Francistown Police Station's Traffic Officer, Assistant Superintendent Tomeletso Poloka, the man sustained serious head injuries from the incident at around 10pm. The victim is reported to be a Motswana working in one of the Chinese shops in Francistown.
