Merafhe discharged

Vice-President Mompati Merafhe arrived in Gaborone late yesterday afternoon after being discharged from Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg. He has been granted leave until he is fit to resume work, deputy permanent secretary in the Office of the President, Mogomotsi Kaboeamodimo confirmed yesterday.

Meanwhile a convoy of trucks is expected to leave Gaborone for Pretoria today to deliver donations to flood victims in South Africa. Botswana High Commissioner, Motlhagodi Molomo confirmed that the government of Botswana has donated to victims of floods that recently hit South Africa leaving over 30 people dead and causing massive destruction of infrastructure and residences.

However, the public relations office at the Foreign Affairs Ministry declined to give information on the matter only confirming what the High Commissioner has said.
