Maun lawyer sues govt for P10m

MAUN: Maun lawyer Charles Tlagae, who is suing the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for P10 million for malicious prosecution, says the two trials he faced were driven by jealousy. In the two cases Tlagae was faced with accusations of obtaining by false pretences and he was acquitted.

He was charged with Nicky Masheko for conspiring to defraud a South African national, Casparus Stadler, of P600,000.

The charge said they falsely pretended that there was a farm in the Batawana Tribal Authority that was registered in the name of Wetu Tshenyo, while it did not exist.
