Marriage in wedding jest again

MAHALAPYE: In a typical case of putting the cart before the horse, President Ian Khama has set his wedding date before he has even found the bride to be.

Speaking to multitudes of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) followers on the eve of the Mahalapye West and Tshikinyega by-elections here last Friday, Khama said his wedding would finally take place on December 12, 2012.

"Although I have not as yet found the woman of my choice, I am certain about the wedding date," he said, eliciting a mixture of happiness and disbelief. "I invite every one of you to attend."  What brought out the jester in the President was the magic date of 12/12/12. He said he was aware that he was racing against time because he only had November to find the right woman and appealed to all present to join in the search for Botswana's First Lady. However, unlike before, he did not specify the physical attributes of his ideal woman.
