Man commits suicide after stabbing girlfriend

The incident occurred on Friday night following the duo’s misunderstanding that led to a fight. No2 Police District Officer Commanding, Paul Oketsang said the deceased had fled the crime scene after stabbing his girlfriend and was later found lying unconscious, suspected to have ingested poison.

He said the boyfriend was taken to Palapye Hospital where on arrival he was certified dead by the doctors suspected to have died from drinking something poisonous. “The 42-year-old girlfriend has sustained serious injuries and she is currently fighting for her life at Mahalapye Hospital. We suspect that the deceased might have thought his girlfriend was dead and committed suicide,” he said.
