Two Mahalapye young men, aged between 18 and 20, have been arrested in connection with the theft of four donkeys that recently disappeared in Pallaroad village.

The duo, along with another still at large, allegedly rustled four donkeys from Pallaroad and took them to Mahalapye without the owner’s consent.

Acting police station commander at Mahalapye Central Police, Assistant Superintendent Moatlhodi Onalenna said the matter was reported by the owner of the donkeys. He said the owner alleged to have heard rumours that Mahalapye lads were seen rustling his donkeys to the village. “We managed to locate two of the said men who have since revealed to have lost the four donkeys to their co-accused who tracked them to their cattle posts in the outskirts of Mahalapye,” Onalenna said. “We have since launched investigations to locate the donkeys and arrest the third suspect.”
