Magistrate orders investigations

FRANCISTOWN: The Principal Magistrate here, Thebeetsile Mulalu, has instructed the prosecutor to investigate allegations by a rape-accused that prison officials deny him medication after he raised a complaint of torture against them.

The prosecutor must investigate all complaints raised by Thapelo Simon at the Francistown Prison and report back to the court on February 21, the court ordered.

Simon told the magistrate that he is afraid of his safety inside prison because he is continually threatened and maltreated.
