Lightning fatally strikes one, injures another in Tsolamosese

Residents of Tsolamosese were left in shock following an incident in which a woman was struck by lightning, whilst a man sustained serious injuries during Sunday’s late evening thundershowers.

Confirming the incident, Mogoditshane Police Station acting commander, Assistant Superintendent Mompoloki Ramaphoi, said the two victims were standing at a bus stop near Mmankadile Grounds, waiting for public transport with other commuters when the storm began. He said the police received the report at around 6 pm.

“A sudden lightning strike hit them whilst it was raining. The victims were a 46-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man,” Ramaphoi said.
