Late birth registrations worry SEDC

This implies that there are still more children who are not registered for birth certificates. This situation is worrisome as these are critical for displaying one’s identity,” SEDC chairman Phenyo Segokgo said at a full council meeting this week.

Segokgo said though the council office continues to sensitise the public on the importance of registration some parents are reluctant to do as required. Still at council, Segokgo revealed that the Self Help Housing Agency (SHHA) home improvement was funded to the tune of P4,989,000 during the 2015/16 financial year.
