LOBATSE: A 26-year-old man accused of stabbing six people, killing one, on the eve of Independence Day, was yesterday further denied bail at his appearance before Lobatse magistrate, Thedi Tshepo.

Facing his fifth plea for bail, Oteng Kefitlhile, begged for release stating that his property was at the risk of being stolen in Francistown. The accused said he had left his property unsecured since his arrest last year. “I plead for bail since I have left my property unsafe where I was working before I was arrested. I have no idea what state they are in so I need to secure them,” Kefitlhile pleaded.

The substantive magistrate, Thedi referred Kefitlhile to Lobatse Chief Magistrate, Mareledi Dipate where his case was initially arraigned.  The substantive prosecutor in the case, Sergeant Pauline Ramaotwana of Woodhall Police Station said the accused person will be availed before medical services for ‘sanity’ check-up on January 21.
