A 51-year-old woman bravely saved a 39-year-old man’s life after he was attacked by a crocodile whilst the pair were fishing in a pond a few metres from the Chobe River in Kazungula on Friday afternoon.

Confirming the incident, Kazungula Police Station acting commander, Assistant Superintendent Sefane Mokgethi, said the two were fishing when a crocodile suddenly attacked the man.

“The woman was allegedly in possession of a spear, which she used to repeatedly stab the crocodile until it released the man,” Mokgethi said.
